RIVERBEND DREADLOCKS is a fully licensed, private salon specializing in dreadlock services for all hair types. I opened the studio in 2022 after choosing to restructure my daily life during the pandemic. RIVERBEND DREADLOCKS overlooks the Riverbend Ponds Natural Area in beautiful Fort Collins, Colorado, and offers an eclectic and cozy atmosphere. RIVERBEND is my happy place, and my goal is for each guest invited here to relax and soak up the good energies from this place that means so much to me.

Guests are seen by appointment only, and the posted address is for the pondland near my residence. Once you are accepted as a new guest, you will receive the information needed for your appointment.

In 2002, I graduated from Shoreline School of Cosmetology, a Redken school in Santa Cruz, CA. After that, I spent ten years behind the chair, specializing in color and women's haircutting. I have always loved working with my hands, getting dirty, and constantly learning new things, and in 2011, I felt the need for a change. I returned to school to pursue an AAS degree in Welding Technology. Afterward, I spent the next several years in award-winning sign shops, fabricating custom signage for businesses across the country.
Like many others, my life changed completely in 2020. I am mom to a son who lives with Prader-Willi Syndrome, and the only thing in the world that I could think about was keeping him safe. After a couple of months at home and with no end in sight, I decided to quit the shop, where I was the Production Forewoman, and stay home with my son as long as we needed to. I had no backup plan. It was nuts. And super scary. Somehow, thankfully, I was able to work it all out, and we started a totally new life at home, together.
With more time to play with, I began my loctician training with Seienstyle in 2021. I'd had my hair locked for four years at that point and wanted to learn to maintain my hair properly. It all snowballed from there.
When my son returned to his day programming activities, I quickly learned that I needed to find an engaging activity for myself, as well. It was then that I began to make plans for my dreadlock studio. Initially, I had planned the studio to be a small project to busy myself with when my son was gone a couple of days a week, but I've always been one to do everything 110% or not at all, so I can't say that I'm surprised with what it's become.
So here I am now, so grateful for my son's loving support and for our new life together. So very excited with all the interesting new people that I get to meet. Hopeful that what I'm building will have a positive impact in the lives of others. Welcome to Riverbend Dreadlocks.
